Tried to venture up to Village Creek last weekend, but the weather was cold and windy, and my associates were itching to call it quits early. Weather permitting, I should be able to get out this weekend and post another good fishing report!

Comment on Stinkpot Fishin' With BIL & FIL (Jan 25, 2009)

Hey Mark, Been getting any fish? Many have water to paddle in. There are so many variable, you will have to decide. Sit on top is most preferred for fishing. It is easy to customize your choice. I am no handyman and think it is easy. A rudder is helpful, my only mistake. Width is nice too. There are many ready to fish. Your time and money will help you make the decision. Never had any complaints about a bad yak!!!!! Hope this helps some. Take your time and ride a few. E-mail me if you have any questions.

Comment on Trying Out The New Fishbites Xtreme Scent Release Lures

Great site...I'm currently looking for a nice starter kayak for fishing. How long will this kind of pump keep bait? How long does the pump run?

JD -- I've kept bait all day with this rig as long as the weather doesn't get too hot (upper 80's or worse). During the summer months, I put in a small frozen bottle of water to keep live shrimp cool. Changing out some of the water now and then helps, too. The aerator pump runs on a single D-cell battery. It will last for at least 3-4 trips. Most of my trips are 6 or 8 hours long.

-- Mark

Comment on Dirty Harry on Kayak Fishing Safety

I used to go kayaking a few years ago, but stopped after a very bad experience where I got tipped upside down and the kayak trapped by a rock so struggled to turn back over for at least a minute.
